View, rename, or remove family devices
Inspect each device’s role, connection status, assigned child, and access.
- Open parent Settings → Devices & sync.
- Under Family devices, find the device you want to inspect.
- Check its parent/child role, assigned child, connection status, and last sync where available.
- Tap the device to open Manage device.
- In Manage device, enter a clear Name, such as “Dad’s iPhone” or “Alex’s iPad.”
- Tap Save name.
- Sync the family devices to share the new name.
- Open Manage device on a different authorized parent device.
- Enter your parent PIN under Remove access.
- Tap Remove this device and confirm.
- Keep the remaining family apps open and sync the removal.
- If you want to reconnect the removed device later, create a fresh invitation and approve enrollment again.
