Pair a child’s iPhone or iPad
Connect a child’s device to the family you already created using a fresh QR invitation.
Before you begin
- Chore Miner installed on both devices.
- Both devices nearby, awake, and open in Chore Miner, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled.
- Unlock the parent portal and tap Family (people icon).
- Find the child and tap Pair beside their name.
- Leave the invitation screen open. A code is one-use and expires after 15 minutes.
- If you opened it earlier, tap Refresh QR code before scanning.
- Open Chore Miner on the child’s device. From the welcome screen, tap Join with a parent’s QR code.
- Tap Scan QR code and allow camera access if asked. Point the camera at the parent device’s QR code.
- Check that the invitation names the intended child. Tap Connect to family.
- Allow Local Network access when asked. Keep both apps open nearby.
- On the inviting parent device, check the new device’s name and the child role in Approve new device.
- Tap Approve connection only for the device you are connecting.
- Wait until the child’s normal dashboard appears on the joining device.
- Check the child’s name, quests, and gem balance. Keep both apps open long enough to finish the first sync.
