Understand privacy and where your data goes
Manage on-device family data, sharing, backups, and optional support exports.
Chore Miner saves the family’s profiles, responsibilities, rewards, history, and gems on your family devices. Nearby authorized parent devices receive the family data they manage. A child device receives its assigned child’s profile and history.
- No Chore Miner cloud account, app backend, advertising service, or analytics SDK is required.
- Pairing invitations are temporary and do not include the parent’s private key.
- Device credentials use the system Keychain. Saved files use iOS data protection.
- The website and an email you choose to send support are separate from local app data.
- Use a device passcode or biometric lock on every phone and iPad.
- Keep parent PINs and recovery codes private.
- On shared devices, manually lock the parent portal before handing them to a child.
- Invite parents and children in person, check the role, and approve only the intended device.
- Remove access for devices that are lost or no longer part of the family, then sync the remaining devices.
- Use Export encrypted backup when you want a private copy of family data. Keep its password separate.
- Use Export safe diagnostics when support needs app version, sync counts, or error flags. It does not contain child names, chore history, PINs, or credentials.
- Review any optional Apple crash report before sharing; it is a different system-generated file.
- Send support files only when you choose. The app does not automatically email or upload them.
Archive keeps a child’s history while hiding the profile. Permanent deletion removes the child’s data as family devices sync. Leave family clears one installation. Reset family ends the family connection as the reset reaches devices. None of these can erase an already exported backup or remotely wipe a lost offline device.
