Sync family devices and understand offline work
Exchange quests, approvals, purchases, and configuration while family apps are open nearby.
- Bring the already-paired devices nearby and keep them awake.
- Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices.
- Open Chore Miner on each device and leave it in the foreground.
- Allow Local Network access when asked.
- On a parent device, open Settings → Devices & sync and tap Sync now.
- Wait for a completed sync and check that the relevant quest, balance, or approval updated on the other device.
Devices & sync shows queued submissions, queued purchases, pending approvals, and the last completed sync.
- Waiting to sync: an action is saved on the current device and still needs to reach another device.
- Waiting for approval: the child submitted the quest; an authorized parent still needs to check it.
- Awaiting delivery: the child redeemed an accepted reward; a parent still needs to provide it.
- Declined purchase: reconciliation could not accept the purchase. The app shows a reason, and the declined purchase does not spend gems.
Internet access alone does not connect separated family devices. Chore Miner does not deliver remote activity push notifications or sync while the apps are asleep in the background. Bluetooth being enabled does not change that foreground requirement.
- Continue using the child’s last-synced quests offline. Saved submissions wait for the next connection.
- Bring the devices together and open both apps when you want to exchange updates.
- After syncing, approve pending work and sync again so the child sees the award.
Every parent has the same capabilities. Duplicate synced actions do not intentionally award or spend gems twice; competing financial actions are reconciled by timestamps.
- Sync before approving work, spending gems, or making overlapping changes when possible.
- Enable automatic date and time on all devices.
- After both devices reconnect, check the accepted purchases and current balance before providing a reward.
