Set reminders and control notifications
Choose optional local reminders and understand which alerts parents and children receive.
Notifications are optional. Local reminders are off by default. Activity alerts on a different device need nearby foreground sync; they are not remote push alerts.
- Open system Settings and find Chore Miner under Apps, or open its notification settings. On older versions, apps may appear directly in the main Settings list.
- Open Notifications and enable Allow Notifications.
- Choose the system alert presentation you prefer. Check Focus settings if alerts are being silenced.
- Reopen Chore Miner.
- In parent Settings → Family profiles, tap the child.
- Turn on Daily quest reminder under Local quest reminder.
- Choose the reminder time and tap Save.
- Sync with the child’s device and open its app to refresh the schedule.
- Open parent Settings.
- Find This parent’s approval reminder and turn it on.
- Choose its time. This is a local setting for this parent device.
- Set it separately on another parent’s phone if that parent wants a reminder too.
Reminder times follow the current device timezone. The app schedules a rolling seven-day window and refreshes it when it opens, syncs, or learns of time/settings changes. An offline device may remind from its last-synced information. Open the app regularly to keep reminders current.
- A parent’s personal device receives parent alerts, not the child’s celebrations.
- A child device receives alerts for its assigned child, not siblings.
- Positive parent gem grants notify the child after syncing; deductions do not send a child notification.
- A shared device follows its selected child after manually locking parent mode.
- New child reward celebrations stay queued until acknowledged, including when the child opens the app later.
